FAQs

  • In 2023, free kinder is available for all Victorian three and four-year-old children at participating services in both standalone (sessional) services and long daycare (childcare) settings. More information can be located on the State Government website.

  • Children cannot be excluded from attending kindergarten because they are not toilet trained. Please speak to the educator at the centre if you have any concerns.

  • Offers for enrolment are made at the end of June in the year prior to attending.

  • We are dedicated to fostering relationships with families and the community. Jells Park Kindergarten offers diverse opportunities for involvement, including actively participating in the program through term-based parent helper rosters, weekend maintenance rosters, and joining the Kindergarten Committee of Management. Families are encouraged to participate on any day or time that best suits their schedule.

  • For three-year-old pre-kindergarten your child must be three years old on or before 30th April in the year that they are to attend the program. If your child turns three after the kindergarten year starts, some of our programs may require a delayed attendance until the child’s third birthday.

A child is eligible to attend a four-year-old state-funded kindergarten program when they turn four on or before 30th April in the year before they attend school.

  • No. A child can only be enrolled to receive kindergarten funding at one kindergarten service. Families will confirm their acceptance of funding upon enrolment and further information will be provided on this.

If your child is attending more than one service, you will need to nominate which service you would like to accept funding for, and a signed nomination form will be completed upon enrolment.
